A Youth Rights & Media Experiment

Oblivion started as a youth rights 'zine in 1995. It grew to become one of the first and most active youth rights organizations to appear online in the early years of the internet takeover of every corner of our lives. In recent years, most of it's original core of dedicated activists and creative young people moved along to other work. Now a new generation is taking up the call to fight for our own rights through every creative means we can imagine. Do you have what it takes to join us?

Contest Update!

We've extended the contest deadline to Sept 24th, 2007. The idea is to give students, dealing with the first few weeks back in school, more of a chance to get inspired by their everyday experiences and submit an entry.

If you've already sent in an essay then this doesn't change much for you. If you haven't yet, then get started writing right away! Sure, you have a few more weeks now, but time is still short...

In some districts, teachers have not been held accountable for using excessive force against students
